L: Loveable Brit *90s Pop Culture Favorites* #AtoZchallenge

By "Lovable Brit" I mean Hugh Grant, of course. A lot of his movies suck, actually, but no matter what the quality of the film, it is automatically more charming with the dashingly bumbling Grant in it.

In 1994, Four Weddings and a Funeral made him an international star, and it's still my absolute favorite of his movies. But I also loved him as Edward in Sense and Sensibility (1995) and William Thacker in Notting Hill (1995).

How about you---what's your favorite Hugh Grant movie?

Four Weddings is still my favorite too, absolutely love it. Another favorite is About A Boy, he was so great in that. I totally love Hugh Grant.

colin firth is my lovable brit choice =)

love your theme! cracking me up that it's 90s, not 80s, but i guess you have done the 80s quite a bit - nice change!

happy l day!
Twenty years ago - wow.
I'd have to say About a Boy is my favorite. Doesn't hurt that Rachel Weisz was in it either.

I'm one of those who actually likes Love, Actually. When he does his little dance to the Pointer Sisters' song, I just crack up.

I liked him a lot in Notting Hill. But there's the one line in Two Weeks Notice I still find adorably hilarious. The one about sending out for a Milk Dud.

Hugh Grant comes across as such a likeable guy. I can't think of any of his movies I didn't like. Of course I can't think of any I like aside from what's been mentioned already. It usually takes a couple or more viewings before I can actually remember much about a movie.

Hugh Grant was incredibly popular back in the day. I don't have a favorite, but American Dreamz was fun.

Wow, Hugh Grant. Honestly, I can't name a favorite since I haven't seen most of his movies.

About A Boy is the only Hugh Grant movie I chose to see (if I saw any others it was my lady's call) and he was good in that (but Nicholas Hoult overshadowed him imo)

I don't dislike him but I still cannot believe he cheated on Elizabeth Hurley. I know that was like 15 years ago, but still... wth was he thinking?

Cute theme for the A to Z!

And Hugh is definitely charming.
I liked Four Weddings and a Funeral, especially because of his funny friends in the movie. I also liked Hugh Grant in Bridget Jones' Diary (though technically that's not a 90s movie), because his character in that film was almost the opposite of his character in the Weddings film. (I do wish that he and Emma Thompson had kissed in Sense and Sensibility.)
Great post!
