In Which I Show You Mine #AtoZreveal

I was so happy to learn that I wasn't the only dork who planned to pre-reveal her theme for the 2014 A to Z Challenge. As it turns out, there are a whole bunch of us, led by Team Damyanti in the Great & Powerful Theme Reveal Hop.  Click here for the list of the many other bloggers who will reveal themselves today.

Ready to see mine?

90's Pop Culture Favorites!

As in, my favorites. I firmly believe the 80's were the best decade ever pop-culturewise, and as a result I tend to not give the 90's their due. So I forced myself to sit down and come up with 26 things I loved in the 90's that I STILL love, and you know what? It wasn't difficult at all.

So, starting on April 1, I'll be retroing back in time to show you bits of my 90's soul. But before we begin, I'd like to share with you my personal 90's timeline to provide insight into my baseline at the time I fell in love with these things:

1991: Got married
1993: Earned MBA from DePaul University
1995: Bought first single-family home
1996: Started la familia w/ bambino #1
1997: Became a stay-at-home mamma
Expanded la familia w/ bambino #2
'98-'99: Pretty much a blur

You're all tingly with anticipation now, aren'tchya?

If you haven't signed up for A to Z yet, there's still time.

Yes, the '80's is DEFINITELY the best decade with regards to pop culture... so I don't know how you're gonna beat that!
See you around on the A to Z circuit!

Sounds Great! The 80's were a blur for me too, with 5 little ones messing with my head.

Awesome! I'm a child of the 80's, too, and it's true we tend to neglect the 90's--but it was a great decade in more ways than one. Looking forward to your posts--and thanks for the reminder to stop badmouthing the 90's :D

P.S. -- and thanks, too, for stopping over at

earlier today -- much appreciated :)

Maybe I'm biased since I was a teen in the 90s, but I think there's plenty of great pop culture from the decade. Remember Ren and Stimpy? :D

Ha! Ha! Yes, Nicki, life does become a blur after a while, especially when you feel you're doing the Groundhog thing - and as you age you tend to remember your youth more vividly than what happened last week!
I need to be reminded about the Nineties, so I'll stop by.
All the best.

Yay! I'm ready for a walk down memory lane. I still remember last year and all that amazing 80's stuff. Too fun! (That was you, right? I get so muddled. I blame it on the time manipulation.)

Oh, this is awesome!! I'm an 80s girl too but also get nostalgic for the 90s. I can't believe how long ago it was now LOL. Fun theme!
Awesome them! Grunge on, Nicki.

The 90's were my school years. I bet you'd blast me to the past (but it was all good though).

I was an Eighties kid, but I was a preteen and teen in the Nineties. I feel so old when my undergraduate friends wax nostalgic about the Nineties already, particularly knowing I was a teenager but they were just kids when some of these shows, movies, and fads were around.

70's, 80's 90's, they're all a blur to me! But great theme choice. :)

I can't believe you're doing A to Z! You're my hero. It's great to see your timeline during the 90s. I spent the majority of that decade as a nerdy psychology grad student. I look forward to your posts!

Oh, we are so soul sisters...except I think I lost a decade between '94 (first house monkey) and '04. I call it the "Mommy Coma". House, more kids, work, SAHM (work even harder)... I sort of lost myself there for a while. Can't wait to see what YOU remember (lol).

This will be a helpful history course for me, haha. I was born in 85, but I lived in a 60s-80s cultural house, so missed out on most of the 90s events, even though they were *technically* my generation, hehe. Looking forward to April!

Ah, another pop culture A-Z. I'm not going to recognize any of these, I'm sure, but I'll follow along. Good luck!

Babe, I remember when I first 'met' you your A-Z was '80s television and I was all, my people! (As in you are my people.)

Totally looking forward to this. You have a genius for pop culture and I think it's gonna be tonza fun.
I'm looking forward to reading your posts, especially because I came of age in the 90s; sometimes I'll see a music video, a rerun, or a movie from that decade and I'll think, "That's SO nineties." It's strange that it now seems so long ago, especially since I can still remember certain moments very clearly.

awww...I'm all for 80s. :) But hey, 90s was cool too! I was already married, but I graduated college in 91...so I'm down with that. :)

Good luck!
