F: Friends *90's Pop Culture Favorites* #AtoZchallenge

How you doin'? You know the Friends (1994-2004) theme song is playing in your head right now, so go ahead and click on the image to listen to it while you read.

This is a show that stands the test of time. The writing and the acting blend so seamlessly together that it's impossible for me to see any of these actors as NOT Joey, Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Ross, or Chandler. How about you?

Friends has been my happy place for a long time. My first baby wasn't colicky, but there was something going on with her for a solid two hours every single evening, and this show came on just at the point when my tether was about to break. I'd hand her off to the hubster and head to the basement for a half hour escape with my Friends. Then I'd re-emerge chillaxed and ready to be supermom again. What's kind of neato---and what I'm just realizing as I type this---is that as a teenager, my daughter is the one who reintroduced me to the joys of the show when she discovered it a couple of summers ago. It's the show that keeps on giving.

I LOVE your theme! 90's kid over here :) And you might have the best comment tagline I've seen in forever. Sixteen Candles ftw!

Anyway, yes... I watched a fair amount of Friends. I'll always remember this one episode with Jean-Claude Van Damme -- because I was really into this blonde cheerleader girl in HS and she came up to me one day and told me that her friend liked me. So I quoted the muscles from Brussles: "Tell your friend I think her friend is cute :-P

Yeah, I think they just had great chemistry and timing on that show. Blended together really well. So funny. :)

Ahhh, the 90s. Such memories there. My best friend in High School was addicted to Friends. She still is, all these years later. :) Whenever I see it mentioned, I always think of her. I'm looking forward to see what else you have planned to trigger my nostalgia. ^5 Keep it up.

I was friends with a West Texas girl who was larger than life when this show first aired. I used to tape it (on a VCR!) and watch it when I had the time--we were in college. Well, one night after a season finale, she calls me up and leaves a message on my answering machine (!):

'Suze! (She was the first person to call me Suze instead of Susie) Have you watched the season finale of Friends? Omigawd, Suze, I nearly pooped ma pants!'

It was Ross and Rachel's first kiss. I can still hear that message in my mind's ear to this day.

Love the way you wrote your post, Supermom.
It wasn't a show I watched, although I know all of the characters. Had a good, long run.
Funny thing is I didn't watch Friends OR Seinfeld until syndication. Love both.

Best. Show. Ever. I used to have a Friends trivia game but nobody would play it with me because they knew they'd never win LOL!

I never watched Friends. Is that crazy? I actually got really annoyed with the characters, and there was nothing supernatural about it, at all. Two bit X's in my book. *shrugs* Different strokes for different folks.

Nope, never seen it. But then, the nineties were a time of memorizing plays, practicing art, and reading books for me. Didn't see many TV series then.

I loved this show. I wish it was still on TV! Thanks for the reminder to go rediscover it, though. Going to hunt on Netflix now!!

One of the best tv theme songs ever. :)
I never watched it during the original run, but my wife introduced it to me during late-night viewings after my son was born. The show is cute and would definitely put you in a happy place.

I've never seen Friends. Willy Dunne Wooters is amazed by all the things I've never seen, including pornography.

Love,
Janie

Classic! I agree, those characters were so well integrated with the actors, it's impossible for me to separate them.
