Christmas Cards

I've got the stack o' pain-in-the-arse Christmas cards (almost) ready to go, so I'm rewarding myself and sharing with you a Christmas card of sorts that I actually enjoyed putting together. My college roomie recorded this song in the 80s and it's still the one I most look forward to hearing again when the season rolls around.

So tell me the truth---what's your position on Christmas cards? If you send them, do you do it because you want to or because you feel like you have to? And if you don't---rock on, and for how many years have you been card-free?

~.~.~

Aaand, now it's time for the weekly Author! Author! Blog Bounce.

Check out the Omnific Publising blog for lots of fun announcements, including a contest in which you can win a $100 Amazon gift card (ends really, really soon!), the December 99 cent Sale, aaaand the introduction of Omnific merchandise---T-shirts, mugs, whatnot of Omni titles.

We'll blame Blogger! Although it worked for me. Is that really your roommate singing?
We still send out cards, but the stack gets smaller every year.

I think Christmas cards are indeed a pain in the ass! I haven't written any this year because I'm too busy with my two careers right now. Occasionally I like to hear what's up with my friends from their cards, but I think I get that already through Facebook. Maybe social networking will make Christmas cards obsolete?

It worked for me. One of my favorite songs. I send Christmas cards on and off, kind of like the way I do drugs. Don't wanna be an addict.

I am card free for 15 years, ever since I realized they were obligatory.

I used to send them every year. Now, if I really don't feel up to it, I don't. Typically, though, I like to do it.

...not a fan of Xmas cards. It's become more of a fashion statement, than a heartfelt effort. Wife and I cut out that habit several years ago, and now only pass out cards to immediate family, as opposed to backing up the car to the post office, popping the trunk, and dumping the motherload into the bin ;)

That was very cool! Kudo's!

We stopped sending out cards a couple of years ago and instead email a holiday letter (penned by yours truly) that summarizes the years events and how everybody is doing. It has been well received.
My Christmas Cards tend to come out in January, and some years are absent altogether. This year is not looking good...Kudos to you for getting them out!

We send Christmas cards, but not as many as we used to.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas Nicki.

I love that song. I'm an on and off again girl when it comes to sending Christmas cards. Really depends on how busy I am. This year, I did send them.

Hi Nicki: Merry Christmas to you and all you adore.
In the past I didn't send card - working shift work, usually on Christmas day put a damper on the celebrations. Now, I love to send cards. It is the one time of year when I like to reach out to people I seldom see, just let them know that I think about them and hope for all the blessings of good health and love.
