The Five Year Plan. Alternate Title: Winging It #IWSG

Hey all! I hope your Decembers are off to a good start and that you're feeling the magic of the season. Amid all the festivity, I'm getting the third book in a trilogy (which is actually the first book in the series...more on that next month) ready to relaunch into the world at the end of January. Naturally, my insecurity this month is: "Will I get it all done?"

But I know by now not to waste any time worrying about it. Head down, nose to the grindstone, and all that. So on to the IWSG question of the month:

In terms of your writing career, where do you see yourself five years from now, and what’s your plan to get there?

Here's my deal - I don't make 5-year plans. On this writing thing, I'm happy to go with the flow and see where it takes me. Yeah, I won't be writing any how-to books anytime soon (or ever). But I'm having fun, and that's my main objective. And I'm very, very, very grateful to those writers who've made goals, hit them, and shared their knowledge with the community so that I can at least fake like I know what I'm doing. THANK YOU!

I am a planner and goal setter. I just need to do so better for myself.

..."Winging it." I like your plan.
As a writer, you're comfortable with who you are...I love that.
I agree that having fun is important.
Happy IWSG Day!

Yeah, I'd be TERRIBLE at writing self-help books. I poke fun of them in my new MG book. I'm such a pantser/wing it kind of person too.

I may be a hard-core plotter for my books, but in real life, I'm a pantser.
Way to go with your third book!!! Many festive cheers to you!
I think that we each have a way that works for us - pantsing, plotting, goals, or non-goals. If it works for you to be a goal-rebel, then go for it!
Writer know thyself. Good for you, Nicki! All the best for a happy holiday season.
I don't make plans either. I can see to the end of a project and that's it.

I'm like you... I don't make 5 year plans. I've learned that the Universe has what it has in store for me, things I never thought possible. So I'm just going to keep writing, keep staying positive and see where it takes me. Good luck to you!!

Well I completely blanked on IWSG this month but if I had written a 5 year plan, it would be exactly like yours! Go with the flow, baby. :-)

Sounds like you're super busy.... Good luck with all of it. Let's chat soon... I moved... Still in the south loop, BUT the view is very cool. The east windows face Soldier filed and a the Field Museum and the LAKE.... the south view is unobstructed urban cool... to the west, I see the river. NICE.... Lots of LIGHT. I am loving that aspect...

Hope you're great! HAPPY HOLIDAYS if I don't speak to you soon. I should be in Florida at Christmas until MAY..... I can't wait!

Some of the fake rolex above features are part of the case, but things like SpringLOCK are modifications to the movement itself. SpringLOCK replica rolex was created for Ball when Philippe Antille worked for the brand. Most of fake watches these other inventions are from his mind, too, I believe. SpringLOCK is actually a small rolex replica cage that is inserted around the balance spring on the mechanical movement. The fake rolex uk case reduces the distance the spring can go if strained by shock and gravity. The fake watches uk more distance the spring travels, the more of an error to the rate result there will fake rolex be. This occurs if the watch is dropped, but more importantly if it was subjected to shock. Antille fake Breitling tested SpringLOCK on in action on the wrist of KISS’s drummer Eric Singer during a concept. A hardcore watch-lover and collector, Springer was more than fake Omega obliged to cooperate. I recall speaking to Mr. Antille after the test to ask him how fake Hublot the watch performed. The idea was to test the time before the concert and see if fake Cartier the watch had deviated in its accuracy during the concert while it was on a fake Patek Philippe drummer’s wrist. Philippe smiled with glee and shared, “It works!”
